About Jim

OWNER | GENERAL CONTRACTOR

Starting at age 8, Jim worked along side his Grandfather to maintain eight multi-unit apartment buildings. With so many apartments, there were always repairs to be made and things to replace. Jim soon found he liked building and fixing things and by age 12, was building decks and pouring concrete patios for neighbors and friends parents.

After graduating high school Jim had a career in the machine re-building industry. Working 30 years with a Dayton machine shop Jim repaired, rebuilt and added computer controls to machines used in tight-tolerance industries to build: cars, trucks, engines, airplanes, aircraft carriers, fighter jets and even the space shuttle.

As shop supervisor and project manager, Jim was aware that throughout 2000 and 2001 business was down significantly, and there appeared to be no end in sight. Deciding to turn his life-long hobby of ‘wacking wood’ into a new career, Dunn Well Construction was born in early 2001. Over the years Jim has built a reputation of honesty, integrity and providing excellent quality work for a fair price.

Jim specializes in client satisfaction and has done everything from replacing a dripping faucet to building a 7,400 sq. ft. custom home. Having given up trying to have employees who don’t meet his quality standards, Jim does all the work on small to mid-sized jobs himself. For larger projects, he utilizes and supervises trusted sub-contractors who have proven to meet his quality standards.
